Is there a free trial?
Yes — 30-day trial on every plan. No credit card required to start. Full feature access. Your data stays yours if you don't continue.
What happens to my records if I cancel?
You get a 30-day post-cancellation window to export everything (PDF verification packs + CSV records). After that, we retain your records for the legally-required 4 years (Food Act §50) but you can no longer access them through the app. Annual exports available on request.
Do you charge per staff member?
No. Unlimited staff per venue, no per-seat fees. A 30-person aged-care kitchen pays the same Venue tier as a 3-person café.
Is my data stored in New Zealand?
Compliance records and PDFs are stored on Supabase (Australia region) and Cloudflare R2 (regional edge cache). Data never crosses to US unless you explicitly opt in to AI-assisted features. PII is redacted server-side before any AI provider call (spec §14 IPP12).
Will my verifier accept Kai Safe records?
Yes. Records are server-timestamped, immutable, attributed to staff, and exportable as a verifier-facing pack. We follow the MPI Simply Safe & Suitable template (S39-0005). Several verifiers have already used our portal in live audits during the pilot.
Can I import my existing records?
Yes — we have a one-off migration process for operators switching from Chomp, Safe Food Pro, or paper records. Free for Venue+ plans. Contact support after sign-up.
